It's opening day at Derry Fair and young Billy Brown can’t wait to get there to see the animals, the carousel and the big hot air balloon.

But to Billy’s frustration, everyone is taking their time. Mum's making pies, dad's chopping wood and Sister Lucy is busy brushing her animals for the show. It seems like Billy will never get there on time. It’s only Grandma painting the bird house that listens. ‘It’s late!’ she says and stops her chores to take him to the fair. Everyone realises that it’s time to go and they ‘rush and tumble’ down the lane after him.

This rhythmic read allowed culminates in a gatefold that opens out to reveal all the glories of a country fair.
